Back-To-School Campaign
Back to school mental health and digital well being campaign
The Back-to-School Mental Health and Digital Wellbeing Campaign is an ongoing partnership initiative between WDFA and the Digital Rights and Mental Health Initiative (DRMHI) that supports young people in developing healthier relationships with technology throughout their academic journey. Delivered through school engagements, DigiZen Clubs, and youth-led dialogue spaces, the campaign addresses the intersection of academic pressure and digital life, creating space for young people to examine how technology shapes their mental health, social experiences, and sense of wellbeing.
While the campaign responds to the specific pressures young people face during school transitions, its reach extends beyond seasonal moments. It promotes preventative approaches to digital wellbeing, normalizes conversations around mental health and digital stress, and positions young people as active participants in shaping safer digital cultures within their schools and communities. Through interactive workshops and peer support networks, participants build practical strategies for navigating both school and digital environments with greater resilience and intentionality.
This approach reflects WDFA's commitment to supporting wellbeing before harm becomes a barrier. By strengthening early digital citizenship and reinforcing care as a foundational condition for sustained participation, the campaign ensures young people can engage with technology safely, confidently, and purposefully, transforming how they experience both educational and digital spaces throughout their school journey.
